Morning to Aclimate

Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun), where you will apreciate the mix of Incan constructions.

Sacsayhuaman where you will appreciate enormous blocks of stones up to 40 tons perfectly set up one over the other. The guide will explain about the importance of this place during the colony and as a witness from battles between Incas and Spanish.

We will follow to Qenq´o (maze) where you will se roads that give the impresión of being inside of a maze. Here you will see the ceremomial table that is important from the place of rest of Pachacuteq Inca.

We will go on our touristic bus to Puca Pucara (red fortress), which was an important contol center for the people that wish to enter the city of Cusco during the inca times. 

We visit Tambomachay and then we end at Cusco at around 6:30 pm.

Start by leaving your hotel early in the morning, we will leave the city of Cusco and make a first stop in the town of Chinchero. There, you will learn about the traditional weaving still practiced in Cusco, using natural fibers from South American camelids (alpacas) that are naturally dyed and handwoven.

We will also visit Moray, an archaeological site created by the Incas that has a circular shape. This is where the Incas conducted experiments with crop cultivation. It is located in an incredible place with stunning views, surrounded by the mountains of the Andes.

Another place to explore is the ancient salt mines, known as the Salineras. This is a natural salt formation with over 200 salt pools. In the past, the Incas extracted salt from this place as it was a vital resource for them and their people. Later on, the settlers of this land exploited these salt mines. Nowadays, the local communities continue to extract salt from these mines, and you will have the opportunity to see how they do it.

The tour begins with hotel pick-up between 08:00 and 08:30 am, followed by a journey in our tourist bus towards the northwestern part of the city, passing through picturesque towns until we reach the Corao viewpoint. From there, we will have a preliminary view of the entire Sacred Valley and the imposing snow-capped mountains that protect the area.

The first archaeological site we will visit is Pisaq (Andean partridge), which we will reach through an asphalt road. As we ascend, we will be able to appreciate the impressive Inca terraces that border the mountains, giving us the impression of being part of them. The places we will visit within Pisaq include the religious sector with temples, the urban sector, the Inca cemetery, and finally the agricultural terraces before descending to the town of Pisac.

We will then continue our journey towards Ollantaytambo, with a stop in the town of Urubamba where you can have lunch (not included in the tour) before continuing to Ollantaytambo. This ancient resting place is known as "The Living Inca City" because you can still see houses with Inca foundations inhabited by local residents. The most important site is the Temple of the Sun, located at the highest point of the archaeological site, accessed through hundreds of stairs that require some effort. However, the view from this place is indescribable and definitely worth it.

We will conclude the tour by taking the train from Ollantaytambo to the town of Aguas Calientes (Machupicchu Pueblo), where we will spend the night at  Intihuatana Machupichu  Hotel

Early in the morning, we will board the bus that will take us on a 30-minute journey, ascending through a zigzagging road to the Machu Picchu Sanctuary.

The excursion includes a guided tour of the Citadel, which lasts approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. You will visit the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, the royal quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, and the cemeteries.

At the appropriate time, you will descend from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes either by bus or walking. This will allow you to have a peaceful lunch before boarding the return train to Ollantaytambo. The train journey takes about 2 hours. From Ollantaytambo, our transportation will be waiting to take us back to the city of Cusco, which is a 2-hour car ride.
