In the past 2 days, we have found $2700 for someone who previously could only find $20k roundtrip flights and also found $1900 for someone who previously could only find $5k+ roundtrip flights. Please reach out directly if this is something you are struggling with but want to book this trip.
Join Divergent Travel Trips for our first-ever group trip to Papua New Guinea!
Spend 10 days of full immersion in the natural, and cultural wonders of this isolated country on our custom-built itinerary.
After visiting in 2016, we've always wanted to return for the world-famous Goroka Festival (which happens once per year) and we're excited to share that experience with you! Other highlights of this trip include a full day with the Asaro Mudmen, Rabaul, Duke of York Islands, boat trips, and snorkeling, along with some stops that will surely surprise you.
Group trips to PNG are notoriously very expensive and itineraries are often limited and short to keep the pricing down. We've worked closely with a long-term operator - someone we know personally who has been offering trips in PNG for 13 years! We've negotiated to offer a trip at an insane price, with many inclusions (like domestic flights!), that overlaps the famed Goroka tribal festival and also spends some time enjoying the country's natural wonders.
IMPORTANT: We must secure domestic flights ASAP, so please do not delay booking if you want to be guaranteed a spot on this trip.
PLEASE READ: This trip is the very definition of an adventure. We will be visiting a place that is barely touched by today's world. You will likely be out of your comfort zone at one point or another on this trip. We expect that everyone maintains a positive attitude, no matter what we encounter on this trip. This includes hotel standards, flight delays, change of plans, weather, etc. This is going to be a true adventure, so please manage your expectations!
Photography: While every trip we offer provides a photographic element, you do not need to be a photographer to join this trip. But, if you want to take photos, we’ll have amazing opportunities to do so.
If all you have is an iPhone, no worries! We can help you take great photos with it.
If photography is of no interest to you at all, that’s okay too.
Are you traveling solo? No worries! We welcome solo travelers and will pair you with another solo traveler of the same gender for the trip.

Have another question?
Our email is divergenttravelers@gmail.com.
We live in a fast and ever-changing world these days, which is one of the many reasons we require travel insurance for all of our trips. This also means that if you cancel your trip due to covered reasons with your policy, you’ll be able to file a claim and be reimbursed.
Your travel insurance will also cover trip interruption or cancellation, should something happen like a natural disaster or political unrest. It will also cover if you contract COVID-19 and cannot go on your trip.
Beyond that, we do offer a full refund less the non-refundable $750 deposit up to June 1, 2024, if you choose to cancel for a personal reason.
If you need to cancel after June 1, 2024, we will only be able to offer a refund, less the deposit, if we are able to fill your spot.
Arrive at Port Moresby airport where our on-the-ground team will meet and assist you before transferring you to the start hotel. After you're settled in we'll have an evening briefing and welcome dinner.
