About this trip

Come with us as we travel to the beautiful Gibbs Gardens in Ball Ground, Georgia!   These gardens, on the sprawling estate of Jim Gibbs, cover 220 acres and comprise 16 gardens in various styles.  We will start our day with a prearranged boxed lunch that you are welcome to enjoy in the gardens.  Then, it is off to explore these beautiful gardens at your leisure.  Some of the  gardens set to bloom during early May are tulips, fern dell, Encore Azaleas, rhododendron, and Knockout Roses.  Depending on Spring weather, hydrangeas and water lily may be beginning to bloom on our trip.

Cancellation Policy

We work to have the most agreeable cancellation policy in the travel industry.  Anyone who must cancel after registration will forfeit a $55 fee.  This amount is used to make deposits on the bus which must be booked in advance.  If there is a waiting list and we can replace you with someone else being added to the trip, we will then reimburse your initial deposit in full.

No shows on the morning of departure will not be eligible for a refund.

Accessibility

The Valley Gardens are wheelchair accessible. The Welcome Center (ticketing, restrooms and The Seasons gift store) and the Arbor Café are also wheelchair accessible.  The paths in the Valley Gardens are easy to traverse; they are level and wide. There are many benches—126 in the Valley Gardens alone—that provide a comfortable place to sit and rest or just time to relax and take in the beauty of the gardens.

The paths throughout the gardens are covered with a ground granite composition that stays firm in dry weather. They are not paved. As such, they may soften following rain. Visitors who must traverse the Gardens either by wheelchair or electric scooter should consider this, as Gibbs Gardens will put a Pathway Restriction into place following rain, which prohibit the use of wheelchairs or electric scooters on the pathways.

  • Valley Gardens – Waterlily Gardens, Grandchildren’s Sculpture Garden & Japanese Gardens – are wheelchair accessible.
  • Manor House Gardens & Wildflower Meadow are not wheelchair or electric scooter accessible.
  • Inspiration Gardens – due to the steep natural terrain of this garden, all wheeled transportation (wheelchairs, electric scooters, baby strollers, wagons) are prohibited entry.  The garden may be viewed outside from above on the manor house road.
  • The Gardens does not rent wheelchairs.

I had a good time but would rather pay more to have better seats and hopefully more leg room.

As always, Mark and Cheri took great care of all of us senior citizens. It's always been a fun trip with them in charge.

What an awesome trip! Everything was planned to perfection by APlus Tours: the hotel was beautiful and in a perfect location, the busses were on time and clean and the drivers were the best, lunch at the Pirate House was delicious as was breakfast at Henry's, plenty of free time to explore on your own and a wonderful Christmas Tradition show at the Savannah Theatre and much more. Thank you, Mark and Cheri, for all your hard work to make our travel experience such a positive one!
