Join the Society for Asian Art for a fun-filled tour to Seattle this fall!
Seattle owes its place in the pantheon of Asian art destinations in the U.S. to Richard E. Fuller, a collector of Asian art who founded the Seattle Art Museum in 1933. Sixty-one years later, in 1994, that museum opened the Seattle Asian Art Museum, which houses a stunning collection of Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Indian, Himalayan, and Southeast Asian art. The museum continues to grow its collection of art centered around historic, modern, and contemporary Asian Pacific Islander as well as Southeast Asian art, specifically collecting different works created by local Asian Pacific Islander artists within the Seattle area. But dazzling collections in both museums are only part of the draw.
