Let's see who is fit enough to enjoy a few Weissbier at Schneider Bräuhaus for Sunday morning Weisswurst Frühstück. Then we head to the Unertl brewery in the small town of Haag before rolling into Salzburg in the evening. 

 Enjoy the city of Salzburg! Strolling through Salzburg’s old town. There’s plenty of history as your tour the city still haunted by Mozart’s spirit – and Sound of Music tourists! After stopping at the Bosna Grill, Sporer Schnapps, and Fürst’s Mozart Balls, we climb the hill up to the Stiegl Keller. In the late afternoon, we’ll visit Salzburg’s best beerhall, Augustiner zur Mülln, for a nice lengthy session! 

 We've planned a beautiful day in the Alps! First, a tour of the Grassl Schnapps factory. If the weather is good, you can choose between a boat ride on the Königsee or a ride to the top of the Jenner Mountain with a bit of hiking.  Dinner at the scenic Scharitzkehlam – a gorgeous hut stolen by Martin Borman!   

We depart Salzburg and our first stop is to try the storied Samichlaus beer from Schloss Eggenberg. Shortly thereafter, we cross the Czech border and visit the UNESCO World Heritage city of Český Krumlov. Built on a horseshoe bend on the river, this picturesque city boasts a castle, a bear pit and a great brewery! Dinner at the brewery with plenty of Bohemian Pils! 

After a two-hour walking tour with a local guide, we board the bus and, believe it or not, we going to visit Budweiser! No, that crappy one purchased by InBev, we mean the original one in České Budějovice.! Also a brewery of some size, they are still using whole cone hops when they brew their spectacular pils. After touring this historic brewery, we'll enjoy a Czech Dinner in their pub before heading back to  Český Krumlov 

After breakfast we load up the bus and take a scenic bus ride back across the Bavarian border. Travel time is about 4 hours and we may make a lunch stop or we may push through straight to Munich. 

Once we arrive back at Hotel St Paul, we head two blocks over to Frühlingsfest! This festival known as Oktoberfest’s little sister. We have reserved seats inside the Hippodrom  tent. Great music, great food and plenty of beer!

After breakfast we stroll into Munich's old town and focus on the city's rich history. 

Founded in 1158, Munich has a rich history from the “First Reich, Second Reich” and was, of course, the birthplace of the infamous “Third Reich.” Our walk through Munich’s old town covers all these periods – medieval architecture, historical anecdotes and insights into the culture. Although each walk is slightly different and customized to the guest’s interests, we typically begin in the heart of Munich at Marienplatz. After the hearing the chiming of the Glockenspiel, we set off to explore the city – the Neues and Altes Rathaus (City Hall), the Frauenkirche (Cathedral of Our Lady), and Munich’s open air market – Viktualienmarkt. We also walk part of route that Hitler’s failed Putsch attempt of 1923. We’ll also see where he attended his first meeting of the DAP (German Worker’s Party – later the NSDAP) and visit where he gave his first major public speech. 

We delve deep into the Bavarian countryside as we venture out to witness the erection of a traditional May Pole. Done by hand, this takes a few careful hours and is usually punctuated with music, food and beer. In the afternoon, we travel to another local festival - be sure to brings your Lederhosen or Dirndl!
