Optional pre-event cruises Tuesday 20th February 2018

We will have some optional pre-event cruises available for you today.  

Registration for these visits will be essential. The TSD Stadium is where you register, its a 17 min walk. You will be given a map showing key locations.

We will organise a time to meet at the Registration, and Americarna Merchandise stand - TSB Stadium, off Rogan Street, New Plymouth.   Come and collect your event information pack and ID. 

Our Bus will collect us and then the cruise will take us to Opunake via Surf Highway 45.   

Once at Opunake Beach, park up, grab some food or pull out your picnic, sit back, relax and enjoy the atmosphere.  On a sunny day the beach and water are beautiful, so don’t forget to bring your togs and towel.  ‘Hawaiian’ will be todays theme; perfect for a great day at the beach.  There will be prizes for the best dressed! 

We are free to leave at 2:30pm as we will need time to gear up for the nights Welcome Event! 

The Welcome Event, will be held on Wednesday evening at the TSB Show Place, 92 – 100 Devon Street, New Plymouth is the street next to our accommodation.  This is a good opportunity to mix and mingle, make new friends, and catch up with old friends.  The bar will be open at 6.30pm and this will be followed by a Private Movie screening – car related of course!  The movie kicks off at 7:30pm.  

As this is a Private Function, Please be sure to wear your Americarna wrist band for access.  Entry for registered entrants and Sponsors only.

Registration & Merchandise hours for Wednesday:

8:30am – 6:30pm

 It’s day two of Mainstream Americarna.  By now you will be in the swing of a great time. The theme for today is ‘T-Shirt Thursday’.  Round up is at the TSB Stadium with a 12:00noon departure.  From here we head out to see the wonderful people of Waitara.  Once you are parked up, grab some lunch and enjoy all that Waitara will be doing for us.

3:00pm it’s back on the road again.  Inglewood will be our destination via the Tarata Tunnel.  The Inglewood community is renowned for their amazing street party so you will be well looked after tonight.  At 8:00pm you are free to depart.

Registration & Merchandise hours for Thursday:

9:00am – 2:00pm

 Today is a long day.  So to help make things a little easier for you this morning, breakfast will be available for purchase at the TSB Stadium prior to leaving.  The theme for today is ‘50’s Friday’!  Departure time will be 10:00am with Stratford as our first destination.  The route to Stratford will allow us to cruise by more schools, as well as give us a chance to re-group before the next leg.  Once in Stratford, locals will have the opportunity to check out your pride and joy while you look around, grab a snack and a coffee.

At 12:30pm it’s time to cruise to South Taranaki with Hawera as our destination.  The route to Hawera will be via Opunake Road, Kaponga and Manaia, again allowing more children the opportunity to see the convoy.  Upon your arrival the Hawera locals will welcome you with open arms.  Once parked, grab some food, take in some shopping and check out the action, 2:30pm at the Go-Stop drags. We have two Nitro Cars this year at the Go-Stop. 

We will also be offering free busses to Tawhiti Museum with free entry. Please email nadine@americarna.com if you wish to visit the museum to book your spot on the bus. From Hawera, 5:15pm we head back to New Plymouth for main street cruising via the amazing Mangorei Road Street Party! 

Devon Street Night Cruise. (next to our accommodation)  Once in the New Plymouth CBD you will be greeted by thousands of locals vying for a spot to check out the cars.  You can watch the cruise Devon Street New Plymouth, grab some food and relax at the end of a long day.  Cruising ends at 9:30pm.

7:30am – 9:30am

 Today is Americarnival day in the New Plymouth CBD.  You will be parked in town from 8:30am ready for the Americarnival to start 10:00am – 3:00pm.  Your cars will be on display for the public to enjoy while you do a bit of shopping, eat great food, enjoy the entertainment around town or take the opportunity to stroll through the picturesque Pukekura Park or along the Coastal Walkway.

At 3:00pm it’s back to your cars, time to exit the CBD and get ready for tonight’s festivities!  Farewell Party!  Tonight’s theme will be none other than Rock n Roll!

The Farewell Party on Saturday Night, is at the TSB Stadium, Rogan Street, New Plymouth, this is a great place to enjoy an evening full of great music, dancing and enjoying the company of other car enthusiasts. The Bands for the Evening will be Southern Diplomats & The Che Orton Band.  

There is an option of the pre-function dinner at 6:00pm. which is a delicious Texas BBQ meal.  Tickets for the meal will be available for purchase when you collect your registration packs at the beginning of the event.

For those who opted to arrive after the dinner, party time kicks off from 7:30pm. 

There will be entrant prizes chosen today, but you must be at the finale party to claim your prize.

From here our celebrations come to an end.  

 As you head home and back to reality you can reflect on your week and feel happy in knowing you have been a part of providing something very special to the Taranaki community! You will have made new life long friends and memories you will cherish forever!
