About this trip

HAITI, THE HIDDEN GEM OF THE CARIBBEAN

THE INSIDE SCOOP

Explore the mystery of Haiti’s unexpected treasures, winding alleyways, and stunning natural beauty. The first and only nation in the world born of a slave revolt, its culture – from its Creole language, to its Vodou religion – is a unique fusion of its African and European heritage. Haitians are humble, happy and eager to help, probably among the friendliest people in the Caribbean. You’ll encounter children with beaming smiles, resourceful fishermen and warm motherly types who are happy to see you enjoy their country. Yes, there is poverty, but traveling in this country opens your eyes to a different, infectiously happy and welcoming side of Haiti.
