About this trip

If South Africa is on your bucket list, you can't miss this 11-day trip to the Rainbow Nation as it is nicknamed.

This itinerary starts in Cape Town and ends in Johannesburg.  We will experience  the History and the unique Cultural Diversity of the country. This tour begins with the history of Apartheid from its beginning to modern day Africa. We will explore SOWETO, TABLE MOUNTAIN & ROBBEN ISLAND, CAPE PENINSULA, THE WINELANDS,  KRUGER NATIONAL PARK AND SHANGAAN RIVER CLUB, LESEDI CULTUAL VILLAGE and more.  During our immersive cultural experience, whenever possible,  we have contracted the use of licenced and bonded Black owned companies to provide services to us. These companies are the fore-runners of progress that has resulted from 27 years of being free from the constraints of Apartheid.

* During the strife of the apartheid era, the local population of Soweto did not have the opportunity to enjoy the freedom of frequenting and/or having ownership of social spots outside of the townships. This saw the rise of Wandie’s Place in 1981, from an illegally operated shebeen to creating a niche with the official licensing of a full service restaurant/pub in 1991.

IS THIS TRIP RIGHT FOR YOU?

This active program covers a good amount of ground each day. Expect from three to four hours walking on some touring days. The pace is moderate, however you will encounter some uneven surfaces, stairs, steps and significant slopes. A few early wake-ups are required. There are two long days spent on the coach between Hazyview and Johannesburg. For your comfort, several stops will be made along the way including a lunch break. While the majority of the tour will be performed in an air-conditioned motor coach, game drives will be conducted in small safari vehicles that cannot be air-conditioned.

While the majority of South Africa is malaria-free, visitors to Kruger National Park are encouraged to consult their health-care providers regarding malaria prophylaxis. During this tour, you may come into proximity of wild animals whose actions can be unpredictable. Our tour guides are experienced and knowledgeable however, certain inherent risks are involved which should be considered at your own discretion.
